Jennifer Aniston Says Her 'Awkward Phase' Happened During Brad Pitt Marriage In Her 30s
While it seems impossible to believe, Jennifer Aniston claims she had an awkward phase -- and that phase overlapped with her marriage to Brad Pitt.
The "We're the Millers" actress sat down with Parade recently, just months ahead of her 45th birthday in February. When asked what she knows now that she didn't know at 25, Aniston spoke about her "awkward phase."
âThat thereâs nothing to worry about -- although I donât think I had a care in the world at 25, either," she said. "That all started in my 30s, my awkward phase. Iâm a little bit of a late bloomer! But it doesnât matter to me because it just gets better. They do say youth is wasted on the young, but I feel just as youthful now -- if not more -- than I did when I was 25. Iâm more in my body; Iâm more in my mind. Life is full. Life is wonderful. Weâre very, very fortunate.â
The former "Friends" star -- who admitted to still watching bits of reruns of her hit show every now and again -- married Pitt in July 2000 when she was 31. She filed for divorce in March 2005, when she was 36. After that, his relationship with Angelina Jolie played out in the tabloids and she went through a series of breakups with the likes of Vince Vaughn and John Mayer.
Today, Aniston is set to marry fiance Justin Theroux and couldn't be happier.
âMy life is so fantastic," she told Parade. "Iâm so happy. There are a lot of exciting things that Iâm excited about doing. Weâre about to do a sequel to 'Horrible Bosses,' which is such a fun character for me. And I think Iâm going to try at some point next year to direct a full-length feature, which Iâm extremely excited about. Iâm just so happy and Iâm grateful for my fans. I just hope I keep doing work that they love.â
Aniston offered her 30-year-old self some advice while chatting with Jason Sudeikis for Glamour's September issue.
"Thirties. Thirties. Go to therapy. Clean up all of the sh-t. Clean up all of the toxins and the noise. Understand who you are. Educate yourself on the self ... [But] you can undo a lot of things. If you're not happy, you can become happy. Happiness is a choice." Celebrity - The Huffington Post
