Earlier this year Mel Greig and Michael Christian called the hospital where Kate Middleton was giving birth and managed to convince a nurse to give them confidential medical information.
In the aftermath of the prank, nurse Jacintha Saldanha ended up committing suicide, which led to a complicated situation for both Greig and Christian.
And now, Mel has announced she has resigned from her job at 2Day FM and will drop her lawsuit against the employer for “failing to maintain a safe workplace.â€
At the time, 2Day FM parent company Southern Cross Austereo decided to air the prank call in its entirety despite requests by Greig to edit some of the content, leading to death threats against Mel and her team.
A spokesperson told press, "Prior to the call being broadcast she made suggestions for changes to be made to the recording of the call. 2Day FM decided that the call should be broadcast without alteration."
As it stands, Mel will finish out the year and withdraw legal action immediately.
