Just after watching the new movie, "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," Prince William spoke a few words in honor of the former South African president.
Reports claim that William and wife Kate Middleton were told about Mandela's death while the movie was playing, but apparently the audience didn’t know until the credits rolled. A two minute moment of silence was held in the theater in his honor.
His head hung low beside Kate, the 31-year-old prince said, “It’s obviously extremely sad and tragic news. We were just reminded of what an extraordinary and inspiring man Nelson Mandela was."
He continued, saying, "My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family right now."
