Are Patsy and Eddy headed to the big screen?
Jennifer Saunders, the creator of the classic British sitcom, "Absolutely Fabulous," stopped by British talk show "This Morning" to discuss her new memoir "Bonkers" -- but the conversation inevitably lead to "Ab Fab" and Saunders revealed that a movie was actually going to happen.
âThere isnât [a movie] but there will be. Iâm close to picking up a pen, thatâs how close it is," Saunders told the hosts of "This Morning."
An "Ab Fab" movie has been rumored to happen for years, but when Saunders and Joanna Lumley (who plays Patsy on the series) reunited for three "Ab Fab" specials in 2012, reports heated up.
This past October, Lumley told Jonathan Ross on "The Jonathan Ross Show" that she thought it would happen. "Jennifer tends to work to deadlines," she said, "so we've got to create a deadline and then get her there."
Adding fuel to the fire, The Guardian reported that Saunders herself was open to the idea of a movie. "I've got some little pet projects that I keep tinkering away with. One of them might be the 'Ab Fab' film, I don't know," said Saunders. "As we're going into winter, a nice little summertime film seems rather attractive."
A poster for an "Ab Fab" movie appeared online last week:
