Joining the trend of mainstream music mayhem, Drake is being sued for canceling two of his Chicago concerts, because he allegedly wanted more money the previously agreed amount, as well as refusing to pay back hundreds of thousands of dollars heâd been paid for the performances.
Status Entertainment claimed that the rapper canceled a March 2012 show, during his reported âmeteoric rise to the top of the music charts, achieving worldwide fame and fortune,â and that is apparently what made his asking price skyrocket.
The entertainment company reported that Drake had agreed to perform for $ 250,000, and that the promoters had already transferred him $ 100,000 when he suddenly canceled the show. He did not return the money.
When the same thing happened again in June of 2012, Status decided to sue Drake for breach of contract and unjust enrichment fraud, among other allegations. The entertainment group is demanding $ 202,800 plus interest and court fees.
